ROBERT A. BOHRER has devoted his entire legal practice in the area of employee benefits. He has extensive experience in all aspects of employee benefits litigation, alternative dispute resolution, including as both plaintiffs and defense counsel.
Robert Bohrer is a graduate of the University of Washington (1969) and received a J.D. degree from Indiana University at Bloomington (1972). He is licensed to practice before all the courts of the State of Washington and has presented briefs and oral argument before the Washington Supreme Court and Washington Appellate Courts. He regularly appears as legal counsel in cases before the U.S. District Court for Western and Eastern Washington. He is licensed to practice before both the U.S. Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and has represented parties in cases before both Courts.
Before organizing the Law Firm in 1980, Mr. Bohrer practiced employee benefit law with another firm and later functioned as in-house counsel for a third-party administration company. Today his practice concentrates on representing labor-management trustees on plan administration, fiduciary and litigation matters. In addition to ERISA consultation matters, he has extensive experience in trust fund enforcement of labor agreements and debtor-creditor issues. He has been a frequent speaker and writer on employee benefits issues.
Mr. Bohrer is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, The Federal Bar Association, The American Bar Association (Labor Section), the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the Christian Legal Society.
